Counselor Chris.... how did he get to be a counselor?

I began my career in the "real world" following graduation from Allegheny College in the 90s. I took a position with SeaWorld of Ohio where I was an animal trainer for a few years prior to moving to Jamaica to work as a full-time missionary and teacher.  While in Jamaica, I helped to found Won by One to Jamaica, an organization dedicated to sharing Christ as well as building homes for those in need in a rural area of the island. International missions continues to be one of my passions. In 2017, I was blessed to travel to Uganda, to help train the trauma counselors in the Tutapona organization.  I also have a segment on the Family Life Network in central and western New York and northern Pennsylvania, called REAL ANSWERS that airs Wednesdays during the noon news report. Prior to entering private practice, I directed the Center for Student Wellness (Counseling and Health Services) at St. Bonaventure University in western New York. Prior to that I was the lead mental health therapist for the Intensive Outpatient Addictions Recovery Program at the Bradford Regional Medical Center, in Bradford, Pennsylvania. All of these experiences has positioned me well to serve people, in many walks of life.

Though I dont require people to have a Christian faith to become a client, I want people to know that I hold a Christian faith and worldview.  I encourage others who share that faith to incorporate it into their work with Anderson Mental Health Counseling. Any client or potential client who believes this will be an impediment is always welcome, without judgment, to ask for referrals to other counseling agencies that may better fit their own beliefs and worldview and I will be more than happy to help you find the best fit for your beliefs and goals.
